Passionate independent winemakers, we harvest, vinify, age, and market our wines ourselves.
Our aim is to produce the fullest, most natural expression of Cahors and Lot wines. Through our working and winemaking principles, which refer to the prestigious past when Cahors wine was rightly considered one of the greatest red wines of France, we are working humbly, but forcefully, through our wines, towards this renaissance. We add to this all the best that the modern era can bring in terms of improvement and mastery in the elaboration and construction of wine, from the vine to the bottle. Our aim is to produce the most accomplished wines possible, which are the most vibrant expression of the terroir from which they come, in terms of finesse of taste and complexity, depth of flavor, velvety texture and balance.
A Cahors of character, Les Laquets is long and racy, with a persistent finish (cedar and black fruit), perfectly balanced by fine, precise ageing. A perfect representation of the Cosse-Maisonneuve style.
La Marguerite is the estate's prestige cuvée, from a 2.5-hectare parcel on the famous siderolithic terroir (red clay rich in iron ore). A wine of great potential, where complexity vies with intensity.
Sidérolithe is a parcel-based micro-cuvée born in 2017. The plot is located on clay with a high iron content, which gives the cabernet
franc an unrivalled velvety texture. Its black fruit and violet aromas and velvety texture are immediately reminiscent of Pomerol.
A Cabernet Franc cuvée from the estate, born in 2008. A true Cabernet Franc with superb freshness, in the purest Cosse et Maisonneuve style.
Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve was created to produce great Cahors wines.
We farm around twenty hectares in the Cahors appellation. Here Malbec is KING. It grows in its favourite climate. On the outskirts of the appellation, on magnificent clay-limestone plateaux. We produce Vin de France wines made from Cabernet-Franc (Carmenet, Sidérolithe), which is the other major red grape variety in the area but not authorised in the Cahors appellation.
Biodynamic viticulture is an integral part of the estate's philosophy, producing grapes that perfectly reflect the identity of the Cahors terroir. Strict principles and a viticulture that respects nature: manual harvesting, small yields, precise and fair vinification.
